I am a scholar engaged in research and education at the intersection of strategic management theory and global trade and international business. My primary research interest is analyzing how firms build strategic capabilities and sustain competitive advantage amid shifting international trade orders and institutional environments.
My undergraduate studies in International Trade provided a macro-level foundation in global trade structures and trade institutions. My master's program in International Business and Cross-Cultural Management deepened my understanding of multinational enterprise strategy and cultural institutional differences. My doctoral studies at the School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University (清华大学), focused on Strategic Management — specifically Dynamic Capabilities and the Resource-Based View — where I developed PLS-SEM-based measurement models for dynamic and operational capabilities.
Currently, I apply strategic capability theory to global trade environments, integrating analyses of export competitiveness, FTA institutions, multinational enterprise structures, and China's institutional transformation and cross-cultural business dynamics. Through analytically grounded teaching that bridges theory and reality, I prioritize developing students' capacity to interpret and anticipate real-world economic and managerial issues.
My academic trajectory forms a coherent arc: beginning with macroeconomic trade structures, moving through international corporate strategy and institutional context, and converging on strategic capability theory.

I delivered full-semester undergraduate courses at Shandong Foreign Trade Vocational College (山东外贸职业学院) in China during 2015–2016. During my doctoral studies, I registered as a research member of the Duke University Global Value Chains Initiative (GVCI) when such membership was open to doctoral researchers; my current standing in the program has not been verified at this time.
I served as the sole translator of the Korean version and as a co-translator (with Kai Oliver Thiele, Hamburg University of Technology) of the Simplified Chinese version of SmartPLS, the leading PLS-SEM software. Both translations remain in active use within the official software interface and are listed on the SmartPLS Translation Team page.
In connection with the 2017 KIET research project “Regional Negotiation Behavior of Chinese Counterparts and Korean Firms' Response Strategies,” I established an ongoing working relationship with the Communication and Negotiation Committee (沟通与谈判委员会) of the National Economics and Management Colleges Industrial Technology Research Society (全国经济管理院校工业技术学研究会), based at Xi'an Jiaotong University's School of Economics and Finance. The relationship operates at an observer-level coordination with the committee secretariat — see the committee's official site tanpanwang.com (谈判网) — and continues to serve as a Korea–China academic liaison channel.
